WVCU is administered by the Technology Services Department and Concord's Board of Governors. WVCU-FM is programmed and operated by Concord students and faculty of the Communication Arts Department within the Concord University Division of Fine Arts.
Listeners are treated to a diverse yet fresh blend of music, news, public affairs, and sports. Content can be created by students, faculty, staff, and community members.
Faculty, staff and community members are welcome to sign up for a mentorship in order to become a volunteer. Volunteers may provide content as a live DJ, and/or show producer as well assist with music maintenance and more.
Being a member of the WVCU-FM team provides invaluable experience for students and volunteers alike with a chance to work in a professional radio station environment. The experience also provides an introduction to the non-profit sector.
WVCU-FM live broadcasts and streams can be heard online, on campus at channel 17, and soon on the FM dial at 97.7 in Athens, West Virginia.
