BOSTON BRASS TO PERFORM AT CONCORD UNIVERSITY

ATHENS, W.Va. – Nationally renowned performing group, Boston Brass, is set to perform at Concord University’s Alexander Fine Arts Main Auditorium on Dec. 3, 2013 at 7 pm. The Alexander Fine Arts Center is located on Concord’s Athens campus, at 1000 Vermillion Street, Athens, W.Va.

Boston Brass is an ensemble that has been performing for over 25 years. Their shows aim to not only perform a variety of music from different genres, but to offer their audience lively repartee as well.

Dr. Tim Mainland, professor of music at Concord University, says, “Boston Brass is internationally well known among all players of brass instruments. They are also well known to audiences of all kinds as charismatic and compelling performers. At this concert you will hear some great music and probably also, some great nonsense, humor, history and personality at a fast pace.”

In addition to their performance at 7 pm, Boston Brass will be giving students and faculty a preview of their show at noon at the Subway Sides stage in the Jerry and Jean Beasley Student Center.

This concert is part of the Performing Artist Series, and is free and open to the public.
