CONCORD UNIVERSITY DIVISION OF FINE ARTS
PRESENTS ‘HOLIDAY SPECIAL’

ATHENS, W.Va. – Departments within the Concord University Division of Fine Arts are collaborating to display their talents and introduce the holiday spirit to the community on Wednesday, Nov. 20 at 7 p.m. in the Alexander Fine Arts Center’s main auditorium. The Alexander Fine Arts Center is located on Concord’s campus at 1000 Vermillion Street in Athens, W.Va.

Several ensembles will present music for the upcoming holiday season. Some of the groups featured will be the Concord University Commanders Jazz Band, Concert Band, and the Collegiate Singers. The Department of Communication Arts will also present seasonal readings. At the end of the program the audience will be asked to interact through sing-alongs which will involve all of the groups performing that night.

David Ball, one of the newest members of the fine arts faculty, expresses that the “Holiday Special” is something he hopes to make a tradition at Concord University. He stated that in the past there was a holiday concert and the upcoming event is the start of reestablishing that tradition.

The public is invited to attend. There is no admission charge but donations will be accepted. For more information on this event you can visit www.CUBoxOffice.com or call (304) 384-5101.
