ATHENS, W.Va. – Concord University is celebrating the season with the annual Holiday Open House at University Point on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Guests will be treated to an evening of holiday music, refreshments and festive fun. The community is invited to join in the celebration. There is no admission charge.
Concord University student vocalists and musicians, including the ConChords and CU Brass Ensemble, are providing entertainment. The ConChords will begin the open house with caroling (weather permitting). Traveling across campus, they will make stops at the student center, Marsh Hall and the library steps and welcome guests outside of University Point. Performances by the two groups will be held in the Wilkes Family Chapel and the John and Lucia Pais Family Fellowship Hall.
Adding to the charm of the evening is the Holiday Hall of Trees, which will be located in the fellowship hall. Each of these unique trees will feature the decorating talents of Concord University students, staff and faculty representing various departments and organizations on campus. Theme for this year is “Songs of the Season.”
Santa Claus, ready to hear wish lists from children, will be settled in for the evening in the Erickson Alumni Lounge. Holiday wassail and hors d’oeuvres are on the menu along with other festive goodies.
