Boston Brass Appearing at Concord University Dec. 3
ATHENS, W.Va. – Promising “an evening of great music and boisterous fun,” Boston Brass takes the stage at Concord University on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013. The performance begins at 7 p.m. in the main auditorium of the Fine Arts Center on the Athens campus.
This concert is part of the Division of Fine Arts Performing Artist Series. There is no admission charge and the community is invited to attend.
Boston Brass combines classical arrangements, jazz standards and the best of the original brass quintet repertoire to offer a performance that appeals to all ages. The group’s philosophy is to offer audiences a wide selection of musical styles in unique arrangements, provided in a friendly and fun atmosphere.
Performing for nearly three decades, Boston Brass has appeared in 49 states and 30 countries. The group has conducted master classes around the world and helped raise over $100,000 for VH1’s Save the Music program giving musical instruments to schools in need.
Boston Brass has recorded several diverse albums including “Latin Nights” which features some of the greatest classical and jazz works by Latin composers and performers. The band also has two holiday recordings, “Christmas Bells are Swingin’” and “The Stan Kenton Christmas Carols.”
