CONCORD UNIVERSITY UPWARD BOUND STUDENT
AWARDED WV TRIO SCHOLARSHIP
ATHENS, W.Va. – Johnna Addair, senior Concord University Upward Bound student at RiverView High School in Bradshaw, W.Va., has been selected as one of the recipients of this year’s WV TRiO Scholarship.
The WV TRiO is a consortium of TRiO program personnel. TRiO programs are community and university based college preparatory programs, which identify and support participants that meet the criteria of the program who have the potential to succeed in postsecondary education. Each year the WV TRiO Association awards scholarships to two pre-college and two college-age students.
Johnna has been named valedictorian of her high school class at RiverView and has also been awarded the Joetta Collins Hooker Scholarship, the Wolfe Scholarship, the Delta Kappa Gamma Scholarship, and the John Branch Memorial Scholarship, to date.
She is planning to attend King College in Bristol, Tenn. and to pursue a career as a prosecuting attorney.
Officials with the Concord University Upward Bound program say that they are very proud of Johnna and join in congratulating her for this honor. Johnna has been a member of the Concord University Upward Bound program since September 2010.
