DAVID S. ROTH MEMORIAL 5K WALK/RUN 2013
SET FOR MAY 7 AT CONCORD UNIVERSITY
ATHENS, W.Va. – The David S. Roth Memorial 5K Walk/Run is scheduled for Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Concord University. Registration will begin at 5 p.m. at the Carter Center Lobby, and the race begins at 6:15 p.m. on the track. The Carter Center is located on Concord’s Main Campus, 1000 Vermillion Street, Athens, W.Va.
Participants will be able to register the day of the event. Students of any age can register for $10, while other participants can register for $20. T-shirts will be given to the first 100 people who register and participate in the 5K. Refreshments will be served after the race in the Carter Center. Mugs will be given as prizes to those who place in the various categories.
There are eight age divisions for the women, and 11 for men. Registration fees and other donations collected for the 5K go directly toward the David S. Roth Memorial Scholarship fund.
Dr. David Roth was a professor of journalism and English at Concord University for 17 years. For 23 years, Concord’s SGA has sponsored the 5K.
