UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH DAY
PLANNED FOR APRIL 25 AT CONCORD UNIVERSITY


ATHENS, W.Va. - Concord University’s McNair Scholars Program, along with the psychology faculty, will host the sixth annual Undergraduate Research Day Thursday, April 25 in the Ballroom of the Jerry and Jean Beasley Student Center from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

A Graduate and Professional School Fair will be held in the Ballroom Lobby from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in conjunction with the event.
This year’s Undergraduate Research Day will feature 100 posters and 15 paper presentations by undergraduates from Concord University and Bluefield State College. BSC is a partnering institution through Concord’s McNair Program.

Students will present papers from 9:15 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. in the Ballroom and AB Conference Room and from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Ballroom. The poster session will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.

The keynote address will be presented at 2:15 p.m. by Dr. Darby Proctor, postdoctoral research fellow at Yerkes Primate Research Center, Developmental and Cognitive Neuroscience, Emory University. Dr. Proctor’s recent work on fairness and social dynamics in chimpanzee decision-making has been published in “Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences” and major news outlets.
