AUSTRALIAN UNIVERSITY INSTRUCTOR VISITING CONCORD UNIVERSITY
AS PART OF GLOBAL COLLABORATION PROJECT

ATHENS, W.Va. – Dr. Greg Neal, senior instructor in the School of Education at Victoria University in Melbourne, Australia, is visiting Concord University April 23-25 as part of a global collaboration project between his school and teacher education students in Concord’s innovative EPAT course. EPAT, which is taught by Dr. Anita Reynolds, Dr. Terry Mullins, and Dr. Mark Angle, is an integrated course that incorporates upper level courses in Educational Psychology, Assessment and Technology.

Concord University teacher education students have collaborated with their peers at Victoria University during the 2012-2013 academic year. They have shared information on school systems, types of diversity, teaching methodologies, large-scale assessments, issues in education and other topics.

During a symposium each semester, the students showcase the variety of technologies they utilized in the collaboration (Skype, Google Docs, Voice Thread, Wikis, etc.) while underlining cultural awareness and acceptance.

Dr. Neal will visit Concord’s EPAT class while he is on campus and will attend the University’s Circle of Learning event on April 25. His agenda also includes stops at local primary, elementary and middle schools and tours of cultural sites in the area.
