CU DIVISION OF FINE ARTS PRESENTING ‘GODSPELL’

ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University Theatre and Music Departments will be presenting the musical “Godspell” on Wednesday, April 24th, Thursday, April 25th, Friday, April 26th and Saturday April 27th at 8 p.m. nightly in the H.C. Paul Theatre in the Alexander Fine Arts Center. The Fine Arts Center is located on Concord’s main campus at 1000 Vermillion Street in Athens, W.Va.

“Godspell” was conceived and originally directed by John-Michael Tebelak featuring music and new lyrics by Stephen Schwartz. It was originally produced on the New York Stage by Edgar Lansbury, Stuart Duncan and Joseph Beruh. The musical is based on the Gospel of Matthew. CU also presented this musical in the year 2000, directed by former Concord University theatre professors Dr. Jim Lile and Mrs. Ann Lile.

Concord University’s 2013 production is directed by Dr. T. Gambill and Dr. Keely Rhodes. Cast members include Cody Boone, Rebecca Creel, Amber Fullen, Ainsley Miller, Andi Miller, Chance Rader, Greg Stamp, Crystale Taylor, Akintude Thomas and Charles Wallace.

The Fine Arts Department will be hosting a media night for “Godspell” on Monday, April 22nd at 7 p.m. in the H.C. Paul Theatre for all interested media outlets. For more information email news@concord.edu or call 304-384-6312.

All tickets can be reserved through the Concord University Box Office at www.CUBoxOffice.com, by calling (304) 384-5101 or by stopping by the box office window located in the Alexander Fine Arts Center. Admission is free for Concord students with a validated student I.D. card. A $5 donation per ticket is requested when picking up tickets on the night of the performance from all others in attendance. All reserved tickets must be picked up by 7:45 p.m. on show nights from the box office.

The videotaping or other video or audio recording of this production is strictly prohibited during the show nights.
