Concord University Participating In ‘College Application And Exploration Week’
CONCORD UNIVERSITY PARTICIPATING
IN ‘COLLEGE APPLICATION AND EXPLORATION WEEK’
ATHENS, W.Va. - Governor Earl Ray Tomblin has proclaimed Oct. 1-5, 2012 as “College Application and Exploration Week” in the Mountain State and Concord University is among the more than 70 colleges and universities, middle and high schools, and community organizations across West Virginia participating in the observance.
The goal of the week is to assist more students in preparing for education and training beyond high school. Participating schools and organizations are hosting events and activities designed to help students and families in exploring and applying to higher education programs.
Concord University is hosting “College Prep Rally” on Monday, Oct. 1. Sponsored by West Virginia GEAR UP, the event brings 400 high school students from southern West Virginia to campus. The students will learn about the college application and admissions process.
Concord’s Admissions Office is also holding a Discover Day on Friday, Oct. 5 for all students interested in attending Concord. For more information email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 1-888-384-5249.
Information for adult learners is being distributed by Concord representatives during “College Application and Exploration Week” at vocational and technical schools and at WorkForce West Virginia locations. The College Foundation of West Virginia (CFWV) coordinates the “College Application and Exploration Week” initiative, now in its third year. CFWV is a college- and career-planning initiative led by the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission, in conjunction with the West Virginia Council for Community and Technical College Education, the West Virginia Department of Education, and the West Virginia Department of Education and the Arts.
