MOUNTAIN LIONS SALUTING VETERANS,
MILITARY PERSONNEL AT SEASON OPENER


ATHENS, W.Va. - Concord University’s football season opener against Lenoir-Rhyne on Saturday, Sept. 1 has been designated Military Appreciation Day. Kickoff is 7 p.m. at Callaghan Stadium in Athens.

All veterans and active duty military personnel will be admitted free for the match-up between the reigning WVIAC champion Mountain Lions and the Lenoir-Rhyne Bears.

Concord University’s Office of Veterans Affairs is hosting a tailgate for veterans and military personnel beginning at 5 p.m. in the stadium parking lot. Pre-game and halftime salutes are also part of the appreciation event.

A leader in offering a veteran-friendly campus, Concord University has been ranked the nation’s No. 1 four-year college for veterans by Military Times Edge magazine.
