Concord Univeristy Enrolling Now For New Early Childhood Regents Bachelor Of Arts Program
CONCORD UNIVERSITY ENROLLING NOW
FOR NEW EARLY CHILDHOOD REGENTS BACHELOR OF ARTS PROGRAM
ATHENS, W.Va. - Concord University’s new Early Childhood Regents Bachelor of Arts Program is currently enrolling for Fall 2012.
The online course work is designed to increase knowledge of the child care worker and increase quality of child care provided to children and their families. This program leads to a bachelor of arts degree that fulfills the West Virginia requirement for permanent community authorization. This program does not lead to an early childhood teaching license.
Students with appropriate pre-requisite courses can complete the bachelor’s program in four semesters of completely online courses. (Summer courses are not offered.) Each course is topic specific and will last four weeks allowing a student to complete four courses (16 hours) each semester.
These courses are offered in cohort fashion. One course is taken at a time and lasts for four weeks. Enrolling in all courses during the appropriate semester is highly advised in order to meet graduation requirements at the end of the fourth semester enrolled. These four credit hour courses include an embedded field experience at the student’s place of employment.
A schedule of courses arranged by semester, along with a list of required pre-requisite course work and suggested electives, is located on Concord University’s website at http://www.concord.edu/userfiles/files/rba/RBAFlyerSummer2012.pdf
Substantial scholarships are being offered for Head Start and child care center teachers and home child care providers through T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood® West Virginia.
