CONCORD UNIVERSITY CHOIR HOLDING SPRING CONCERT MAY 4
ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University Choir will hold its spring concert on Friday, May 4 at 7 p.m. in the Wilkes Family Chapel at University Point on the Athens campus. The concert was previously scheduled to be held in the Alexander Fine Arts Center.
The concert is titled “The Sprig of Thyme” and will feature English and American music. In addition to conductor Dr. Jimmy Shepherd, director of the choral program, the choir will be led by Concord conducting students and guest artist Dr. Dwight Bigler, choral director at Virginia Tech University. Bigler will be conducting his American folk song arrangement “Am I Born to Die.”
Additionally, Concord vocal instructor Dr. Keely Rhodes will be singing the featured solo “Sprig of Thyme,” and graduating senior Jordan Stadvec will solo with the choir on the popular song “Sometimes I Feel Like a Motherless Child.”
This concert is open to the public and there is no admission charge.
