CONCORD UNIVERSITY SYMPHONIC BAND HOLDING SPRING CONCERT

ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University Symphonic Band spring concert will take place on Wednesday, May 2 at 7 p.m. in the Main Auditorium of the Alexander Fine Arts Center. The center is located on Concord’s main campus at 1000 Vermillion Street in Athens, W.Va.

The concert is titled “Music From Another Time & Place” and will feature music from faraway lands or from earlier in the history of band literature. Dr. Laura Zamzow, director of the symphonic band, said the band will be performing more difficult music than it has in the past. “I knew I had a well-balanced group and wanted to challenge them,” she says.

The performance will feature many different selections, including the score from “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2” and an original work titled “Through A Looking Glass” written specifically for the band by senior Aaron Chamberlin.

This concert is open to the public and there is no admission charge.
