LATIN AMERICAN STORIES TOPIC OF GUEST LECTURE AT CONCORD UNIVERSITY

ATHENS, W.Va. - Guest lecturer Dr. Manuel Harris II will present “Colorful Words: Celebrating African Elements in Latin American Literature and Popular Culture” at Concord University on Tuesday, Oct. 25. The presentation begins at 4 p.m. in Room 320 of the Administration Building.

Harris is Associate Professor of Spanish at the University of North Carolina-Wilmington. His lecture is sponsored by the Concord University Division of Languages and Literature.

According to Harris’ abstract, the presentation “demonstrates how stories in Latin America may be used to address topics of racial diversity, multi-cultural acceptance, and the celebration of African ancestry (in) the Americas as a whole.”
