Concord University's International Gifts Festival Supports Artisans Around The World

ATHENS – The International Gifts Festival, featuring an exquisite collection of handmade gifts, home decor, musical instruments, jewelry, and personal accessories, will be held at Concord University April 13-15, 2011.

The festival will be located in Concord’s International Office on the bottom floor of the Jerry L. Beasley Student Center.

The International Gifts Festival will help skilled artisans in some 38 countries receive a fair price for their products. All proceeds from the sale will be given to the artisans who created the items. Featured items include hand loomed textiles, pottery, jewelry, baskets, toys and a variety of nativities.

Concord University’s International Students Club has hosted the sale for the last 12 years, showcasing handcrafted items marketed by Ten Thousand Villages, a nonprofit fair trade organization based in Akron, Pa.

For more information, contact Nancy Ellison, Concord University director of multicultural affairs, at 304-384-6086.
