Ames Piano Quartet Performing At Concord University For Artist Lecture Series
ATHENS - The Ames Piano Quartet (APQ) will be performing for Concord University’s last Artist Lecture Series event of 2010 in the Alexander Fine Arts Center Theater on Tuesday, Nov. 30 at 7 p.m.
With 11 CDs, the APQ is one of the most recorded piano quartets in America. The group is composed of pianist William David, violinist Mahlon Darlington, cellist George Work, and violist Jonathan Sturm. They are the resident chamber music ensemble at Iowa State University.
The APQ has toured throughout the United States and internationally including Canada, Mexico, France, Austria, South Africa and the Far East. In 2003, the APQ was the first American chamber music group to perform in Cuba in over 40 years.
Tickets for the APQ’s performance can be reserved through the Concord University Box Office at www.ConcordUEvents.com and by calling (304) 384-5101 or emailing BoxOffice@concord.edu. Admission is free for Concord faculty, staff and students as well as for senior citizens, children and non-Concord students. Tickets are $5 for all other adults. The University Box Office will open an hour before the show for ticket sales.
