Prospective Concord Students Invited to Informational Events

ATHENS - The Concord University Office of Admissions is hosting several regional informational gatherings for students interested in attending the University.

Kent Gamble, Concord University director of enrollment, said that while the events are primarily geared toward high school seniors, any student with an interest in Concord is invited to attend.

Students will have the opportunity to discuss admission policies and procedures, complete an application for admission, learn about financial aid and scholarship opportunities, discuss student life and housing and gather information on academic programs of study, he said.

Gatherings will be held at eight high schools covering six southern West Virginia counties: Mercer, Monroe, Greenbrier, McDowell, Wyoming and Raleigh. Students and parents can stop by from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and no RSVP is necessary.

“This allows us to bring Concord University to students and their parents in familiar surroundings where they can obtain information and begin the process of enrollment,” Gamble said.

The schedule includes: Nov. 29, James Monroe High School; Nov. 30, Greenbrier West High School; Dec. 1, Wyoming East High School; Dec. 2, Princeton Senior High School; Dec. 6, Independence High School; Dec. 7, Liberty High School; Dec. 8, Riverview High School; and, Dec. 9, Shady Spring High School.
