Mountain Lions Meet Falcons In Rotary Bowl Nov. 6

ATHENS - The Concord University Mountain Lions take on the Fairmont State University Falcons Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010 in the Rotary Bowl. Kickoff is 1 p.m. at Anne S. Hunnicutt Stadium in Princeton.

The bowl game, in its second year, is a way to raise scholarship funds and showcase Mountain Lion football, according to Rotary Bowl Chairperson Jack Stafford.

“The purpose of the game is to promote Concord University and increase exposure for the athletic program in the area,” he said.

All proceeds from the $8 per person admission go toward scholarships, Stafford said.

Tickets are available from Princeton Rotary Club members and at the Princeton-Mercer County Chamber of Commerce, at First Community Bank Princeton and Athens locations and at the gate.

Concord University students will be admitted free with their student identification. Concord faculty and staff with an athletic pass will also be admitted at no charge.

Former Mountain Lion Coach Tony Colobro will be honored as part of the festivities. The half-time show features a performance by the Concord University Marching Band.

Concord alumni are invited to tailgate from 11:30 a.m. until game time. The Alumni Association will be on hand updating memberships. The Concord Book Store will have CU spirit wear for sale and the prize wheel will spin with opportunities to win. The Parents Club is also tailgating offering prizes to all Concord parents who join.
