Career Symposium Set For Oct. 15 at Concord University

ATHENS - Concord University Career Services will be hosting a career symposium on Friday, Oct. 15, 2010.

Concord alums will be holding discussions about a wide variety of career options and helpful tips for undergraduates. These sessions will be held at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., and noon during regularly scheduled classes.

“The goals of the day are to reconnect with Concord graduates and build new relationships between alums and students,” Tammy Monk, Director of Career Services, said. “At the same time, all involved will gather valuable information.

“Alums may connect with a current student that they may eventually hire for an internship or job,” Monk said. “Students may gain insight into a new career option that had never before entered their mind.”

Faculty will have the opportunity to reconnect with former students and learn about the current workforce.

Monk says the day is a win-win for everyone.

All students are encouraged to look at the schedule and attend as many sessions as possible. Attendance will be taken at all sessions, so students can attend the sessions of most interest to them.

For additional information, contact Tammy Monk at tmonk@concord.edu or 304-384-5325.
