Consultant Selected to Aid in Search for President at CU
Athens, W.Va. – Mr. R.T. “Ted” Rogers, chairman of the Presidential Search Committee at Concord University, announces the selection of Jon McRae & Associates, Inc., based in Atlanta, Ga., to serve as consultants to the Committee. This selection was made after considering the credentials and experience of several national firms who specialize in presidential searches for colleges and universities. The Presidential Search Committee conducted personal interviews with two of the firms and selected McRae because its practice is focused on colleges and universalities similar to Concord.
Two consultants from the McRae firm will be working closely with the Committee throughout the process, which is expected to span the next several months culminating in the appointment of a new president prior to the retirement of Concord University President, Dr. Jerry Beasley in June 2008. The consultants, Mr. Jon McRae, president and founder of the firm, and Dr. Ron Ingle, who recently retired as president of Coastal Carolina University in South Carolina, will be on campus October 16 and 17 to meet with the Presidential Search Committee and representatives from various constituencies of the University including students, faculty, staff, alumni, community leaders and other friends of Concord.
The purpose of their visit will be to gather information that will be included in a written Opportunity Profile, which will serve as a guide in conducting the search. They will have a particular interest in developing a sense of the existing culture on the campus and in the community.
Interested parties are invited to share their thoughts throughout the search with members of the Presidential Search Committee or directly with Jon McRae & Associates by phone, 1-770-272-9040 or by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org. At the same time, confidentiality is assured for all potential candidates.
A link will be established on the University’s website for updates on the progress of the search.
