Scholarship Established for Children of Concord Graduates
Athens, W.Va. – The Concord University Office of Admissions is announcing the availability of a Legacy Scholarship, beginning with students who apply for admission to the University for fall 2007.
Legacy scholarships benefit the children of Concord graduates.
The successful recipient must be a dependent of a Concord College or Concord University graduate and have a minimum 3.0 GPA and 18 on the ACT or 870 (verbal and math score only) on the SAT. The applicant will need to complete the institutional scholarship application by April 15. The scholarship will be non-renewable but if the student obtains a 3.0 for the first year the scholarship can be renewed by the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid and the Office of Alumni Affairs.
The alumna or alumnus must have obtained a degree from Concord College or Concord University and the scholarship is contingent upon available funds.
“We are extremely pleased to add this new award to our scholarship offerings,” stated Michael Curry, vice president for admissions and financial aid. “We stand on the shoulders of our forerunners who paved the way for us. Therefore, I believe it is most fitting that a legacy scholarship be created, and we are eternally thankful to all of those loyal alumni who have helped us build this and other scholarships at Concord.”
