"Talking With" Theater Production at CU, October 5, 6, 7
Athens, W.Va. - As part of Concord's homecoming festivities, the Concord University theater department will present the play Talking With by Jane Martin October 5, 6 and 7 at 8 p.m. in the H.C. Paul Theater.
Talking With first premiered at the Humana Festival in 1981. The play was originally written with eleven character monologues from women of various ages and socio-economic backgrounds. Although the identity of the playwright is unknown, he or she is rumored to be male and goes by the pseudonym Jane Martin. Despite the mystery, the author we know as Jane Martin has been called "America's best un-known playwright."
Concord's production will include nine of the eleven female monologues. Featured performers are Natale Clark, Clarksburg; Elizabeth Rhule, Charleston; Holly Glick, Renick; Holly Mullens, McDowell; Melissa Caldwell, Mann; Amanda Woods, Calvin; Kimberly Bennett, Hinton; Amilee Bobbin, Daniels; and Courtney Hooves, Bristol.
Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for senior citizens, and $2 for non-Concord students. Reservations are strongly recommended. For reservations or for more information on the performance, please call the Concord University Box Office at 304-384-5101 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
