CU to Host Tri-State Psychology Conference

Athens, W.Va. - The Psi Chi Club (an honorary society for psychology majors) at Concord University will be hosting the 15th annual Tri-State Psychology Conference on April 7, 2006.

Undergraduate students will have an opportunity to present research projects in preparation for graduate school and meet professors and students from other colleges and universities to enhance professional networking.

In years past, this conference has been held at Marshall University. Last year, organizers decided to change the venue to West Virginia University, and this year, Concord University will be host. Students and faculty from West Virginia, Kentucky and North Carolina will be in attendance.

The conference will begin Friday, April 7 at 9 a.m. in the Student Center Ballroom.

A student poster competition will take place from 10:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., followed by a student paper competition from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.

At 1 p.m., keynote speaker, Dr. Robert Astur from Yale University, will speak in the Ballroom.

At 2:30 p.m., a jeopardy trivia match will be held in the Ballroom with the winner taking home the traveling championship trophy. (Last year, three Concord University students won.)

All of the events taking place are open to the public.
