Live Web-Cast During Concord Phonathon, Wednesday, March 15 & Thursday, March 16

Athens, W.Va. - Concord University will be hosting its first live web-cast of their annual Phonathon appeal for scholarships on Wednesday, March 15 and Thursday, March 16 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The web-cast will be accessible by logging on to www.concord.edu and clicking on the “Phonathon” graphic on the main page during the times noted above.

Individuals may call special toll-free telephone numbers and pledge to support scholarships at Concord. The toll-free numbers are: 1-877-384-3440 and 1-877-384-3441. Online pledges will be accepted by e-mailing: phonathon@concord.edu.

Student and community volunteers will be answering the phones and Concord University President, Dr. Jerry Beasley, will be serving as cheerleader for the event.

This is the eighteenth consecutive phonathon held by the institution. Donations to the Phonathon are tax-deductible and proceeds from last year's Phonathon provided 71 scholarships.

Director of Alumni Affairs, Kati Whittaker, said, “I invite alumni, friends and the community to ‘tune in’ to view the Phonathon. We are pleased to be able to utilize the technology available to us for this important scholarship drive to assist students.”
