Public Service Announcement: Concord to Host Open House on Weekends and Weekdays

Athens, W.Va. – High school juniors and seniors along with their parents are invited to attend open house programs (Mountain Lion Open House and Discover Days) at Concord this spring. They may schedule visits on weekends or weekdays and there is no charge for lunch.

Weekend dates for the Mountain Lion Open House are Saturday, March 25 and Saturday, April 22. The weekend events begin at 9:30 a.m., with registration in the Alexander Fine Arts Center.

The Mountain Lion Open House will feature Concord University faculty members who will be available for questions at an “academic fair.” Student “ambassadors” will provide guided tours of the campus, residence halls and classrooms. In addition, students may attend free seminars and learn how to improve their SAT test scores. Parents may learn about financial aid options.

Weekday dates for Discover Days are Friday, March 17; Friday, April 7; and Friday, April 28. Registration is at 9:45 a.m. in the Student Center State Room.

Discover Days features a multi-media presentation, special guest speakers who discuss academic and student life at Concord and admissions counselors who can answer questions. Student “ambassadors” will provide guided tours of the campus, residence halls and classrooms.

The Mountain Lion Open House and Discover Days events are offered as a service to high school students to answer questions about attending a college or university.
