Gordon Ceramics Exhibit Comes to Concord February 22 Through March 17

Athens, W.Va. - Mark Gordon, associate professor at Barton College in Wilson, N.C., will bring a solo exhibit of his ceramic artwork to Concord University. The exhibit will be on display from February 22 through March 17 in the Alexander Fine Arts Center, Arthur Butcher Gallery.

Gordon studied studio art at Ohio State University where he earned an M.F.A. He had studied philosophy and physical education at Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio. While at Oberlin, he became interested in pottery. “The potter’s wheel and the feel of the clay became habit-forming in a good way,” he noted.

Gordon is known for his sculptures and artistic installations and he has earned many awards for his work in clay.
