Rahall Technology Center Progress: Log on to Watch Progress

Athens, W.Va. – The foundation is being laid for the $10 million Nick Joe Rahall, II Technology Center at Concord University in Athens. Now you may watch the building progress by logging on to www.concord.edu/Rahall.

The Center, once complete, will provide technology support for workforce development projects in southern West Virginia by transferring high-tech processes used at Concord to local businesses. The Rahall Center will help enhance the competitiveness, productivity and profitability of firms located in southern West Virginia by offering “e-commerce” training. It will also help start-up businesses with a business incubator.

Students will benefit from “technology enhanced classrooms,” a virtual reality laboratory, darkroom, “midi” lab (to process digital sound), TV/radio studios, graphic design labs, computer center, tiered, multi-media classrooms and a “help desk.”

The facility is slated for completion in March 2007 and Concord is working to raise an additional $1.3 million to fully equip the building.

“I would like to invite you to watch the progress of the building’s construction as our vision becomes a reality, thanks to Congressman Rahall and others,” stated Vice President for Business and Finance Jim Cannon.
