Pianist Dr. Ray Martin Performs at Concord September 12
Athens, W.Va. - Pianist, Dr. Ray Martin will perform in the H.C. Paul Studio Theater in the Alexander Fine Arts Center at Concord University September 12, 2005 at 7 p.m.
Dr. Martin received his Doctor of Musical Arts in piano performance and literature from West Virginia University. During his time at WVU, he studied with noted concert pianist, Herman Godes. Dr. Martin taught piano and served as chairperson of the music department at Salem College for 17 years before concentrating on recital performances and teaching privately. He is currently a member of the West Virginia Music Teachers Association and the Music Teachers National Association. Dr. Martin performs in the Charleston, W.Va., area and at Marshall University where he currently serves as an adjunct faculty member.
Dr. Martin's performance at Concord will consist primarily of classical pieces composed by Bach, Beethoven, Liszt and Ravel.
