Attention High School Students: Apply for Entrepreneurial Studies Program Scholarships at Concord, Deadline is May 20

Athens, W. Va. – Concord University has extended its deadline for accepting applications for the “Entrepreneurial Studies Program,” which allows entering freshmen to enroll in a program where they will receive instruction and mentoring in the various aspects of creating, developing and starting a new venture, as well as reinventing or renewing an old one.

“The program is open to all incoming freshman,” noted Fred DiUlus, program director. “Students do not have to be business majors to qualify for the program. If a high school senior has a 2.5 overall academic average, has demonstrated leadership and entrepreneurial skills in high school, and possesses a desire to help build his or her community, the program's Board of Advisors strongly urges him or her to apply for this cutting edge program,” stated DiUlus. He added, “Studying entrepreneurship is just not for business majors. It is, however, the pathway to growing any venture, public or private, for-profit or non-profit.”

Concord University invites high school students in southern West Virginia and southwestern Virginia to seriously consider this extraordinary program and seize this opportunity to become contributors to the economic renaissance throughout this region. This cutting edge scholarship program has been provided through the generosity of the Shott Foundation and Tierney Foundation in an effort to stir the entrepreneurial spirit of young men and women in a way that will benefit not only the student, but our entire regional economy for years to come.

The deadline for postmarked applications is Friday, May 20, 2005. Students may also apply directly online. Log on to www.concord.edu, click on “Admissions” then click on “Entrepreneurial Studies Program.” Or call toll free, 1-888-384-5249 or 1-304-384-6084 or e-mail entrepreneur@concord.edu.
