Athens, W.Va. - Concord University will hold its fourth annual Relay for Life, Friday, April 29 and Saturday, April 30, at Callaghan Stadium. The Relay will begin at 6 p.m. with the survivor lap. A luminary ceremony will be held at 10 p.m. and the Relay will conclude with a celebration of life at 6 a.m. There will be games and activities, live bands and lots of good food for Relay participants.

“We all have our reasons to fight this disease, some more personal than others,” stated Dr. Angie Edwards-Holloway, associate professor of human performance and faculty sponsor for the Relay. “We have colleagues on campus who have battled and who are still battling cancer. We can help by supporting the American Cancer Society. By donating to the American Cancer Society, 80 percent of all donations made in this region stay in this region.”

Supporters are encouraged to call the American Cancer Society in Bluefield at 1-304-327-8770 or Dr. Angie Edwards-Holloway at Concord University at 1-304-384-5270 to participate.
