Concord Announces New Inclement Weather Schedule for Fall 2004 and Spring 2005

Athens, W.Va. – Dr. Dean Turner, vice president and academic dean, announces that the Athens campus of Concord University will be following a new schedule if day class times must be delayed due to inclement weather.

Under the new schedule, all 8 a.m. classes begin at 10 a.m., and then students and faculty must follow the “inclement weather schedule” that is posted on the web. Concord University’s Faculty Senate and the SGA (Student Government Association) endorsed the new schedule.

“This new schedule will alleviate problems that were associated with the old one- or two-hour delay schedules,” noted Dr. Turner. “President Beasley will send a letter to all Concord University students, faculty and staff to announce the change in policy and the new schedule. As a convenience, he will provide a schedule card for each person.

“I would advise all students, faculty and staff to review the new schedule as soon as possible,” stated Dr. Turner.

The updated policy and schedule for inclement weather may be found at www.concord.edu, click on “News & Events,” then “Inclement Weather.”

Students who attend evening classes either in Beckley or in Athens will not be affected by the new schedule.
