Concord University Announces the Spring 2005 Semester Calendar for Undergraduate and Graduate Courses

Athens, W. Va. – Dr. Dean Turner, vice president and academic dean, announces the beginning of the spring 2005 semester for Concord University.

More than 600 undergraduate classes will be offered in Athens and Beckley.

Students may register and pay tuition and fees beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 11 in Marsh Hall. Classes begin on Wednesday, January 12.

UNDERGRADUATE TUITION AND FEES

Tuition and fees for in-state students are $148 per semester hour. Tuition and fees for out-of-state students are $334 per semester hour.

Students may register at the Concord University Beckley Center through the first class meeting.

The College will observe the following holidays: Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Monday, January 17; and Spring Recess, Monday, March 7 through Friday, March 11.

Reading day—a day when no classes will be held—will be Thursday, May 5 and exams will begin Friday, May 6.

Spring commencement will be Saturday, May 14, 10 a.m., in the Main Auditorium of the Leslie R. and Ruby Webb Carter Center.

GRADUATE COURSES ALSO AVAILABLE

Graduate courses are also available at Concord University. Log on to www.concord.edu, click on “Academics/Faculty,” then click on “Master’s” for course information. Some classes may be offered in alternative formats including video-conferencing or via the Internet.

Tuition and fees for graduate classes are $216 per semester hour for in-state students and $379 for out-of-state students.

A special, lower “clinical” fee of $195 per credit hour is available for teachers employed in Bland, Giles, and Tazewell counties in Virginia, and Fayette, Greenbrier, McDowell, Mercer, Monroe, Raleigh, Summers, and Wyoming counties in West Virginia.
