Public Service Announcement: Concord International Students Need Home for Thanksgiving Holiday

Athens, W. Va. - On Friday, November 21, the residence halls and food service at Concord College will close for Thanksgiving break. Host families are needed for 16 international students who have no plans of their own and no place to stay for the break.

“By this time of the year,” stated Nancy Ellison, director of multicultural affairs for the College, “we normally have our international students placed with local families. Many of the College’s faculty and staff graciously open their homes to international students, however, this year, we are in desperate need of homes for an additional 16 students.

“The students are from a wide variety of countries, including Japan, Bulgaria and Nepal. International students typically are very open, enthusiastic and flexible.”

If you would like to invite a student to share the Thanksgiving holiday (November 21-30) with you, contact Nancy Ellison, director of multicultural affairs, 1-304-384-6086, fax-1-304-384-6064 or nellison@concord.edu.
