Haunted House at Concord Begins Monday, October 20
Athens, W. Va. – A “haunted house” will be held in the Bonner House at Concord College, Monday, October 20 through Thursday, October 23.
Children under 12 are invited to attend 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Others may attend 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Concord student and Bonner Scholar, Angela Miller, from Peterstown, West Virginia, is coordinating the event. Miller is a senior majoring in elementary education. She has been a Bonner Scholar for four years.
“Proceeds from the haunted house will go toward ‘WE CAN,’ (Working to Eliminate Child Abuse and Neglect) a program designed to eliminate child abuse and neglect in Mercer County,” stated Ms. Miller. “Several WE CAN programs in West Virginia have closed their doors due to lack of funding,” she continued. “We want to keep the doors open for the program in Mercer County, so that families will have options available to protect children. The program is headquartered in the Department of Health and Human Resources in Princeton.”
Admission for the haunted house is $1 for children and college students with valid identification cards, and $2 for the general public. Guests may park in lots across from the Bonner House on Vermillion Street.
