Student Receives Recognition from Concord President

Athens, W.Va. - Martinsburg, W.Va., student Matthew Jozik was shy in his acceptance of recognition by Concord College President Jerry Beasley, but he hasn’t been shy about representing the interests of Concord students on the College’s Board of Governors and Strategic Planning Committee.

On Thursday, December 12, President Beasley presented Jozik with a plaque and thanked him for his hard work on the College committees.

Beasley said: “Matthew, you are the first student member of the College’s Board of Governors and I wanted you to know what a great job you have done. You have represented your fellow students well on the Board of Governors and Strategic Planning Committee by asking educated questions and providing appropriate input about your needs and interests.”

Jozik thanked the President for the plaque and recognition. He is majoring in accounting and has not finalized his plans after his graduation in May 2003.
