Concord Organizations Will “Walk” for Diabetes

Athens, W.Va. - America’s Walk for Diabetes will be held Saturday, September 28, 2002, at Little Beaver State Park, Beaver, W.Va. The Walk will kick off at 8 a.m. (The park is near Beckley, take the Ghent/Flat Top exit off I-77, then turn left at the fork on Route 19.)

Concord College sorority Alpha Sigma Tau (AST) is leading the charge at the event by providing more than 20 members of their organization. In addition, several other organizations on the College’s campus will be supporting the Walk.

“We have several members in our sorority who have diabetes, and this effort will help them,” stated AST Publicity Editor/Philanthropy Chair Laura Sergent. “This is the second year AST has participated. Join our team and help support Diabetes research!”

Interested participants should contact Ms. Sergent for more information. She may be reached at 1-304-384-5882 or sergentlm@concord.edu.
