High School Students from West Virginia & Virginia to Participate in Mock Trial at Concord College
Date: Tuesday, June 25, 2002
Time: 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.
Location: Concord Room (A-201) in Marsh Hall (administration bldg.)
Concord College is hosting a summer academy with 70 students from West Virginia and Virginia. The high school students will be attending courses and classes to get a "jump-start" on pre-professional programs in law, medicine, education and research.
Fifteen students will be participating in a mock trial where they will serve as prosecution, defense, witnesses and jury. The case will be announced at the beginning of the exercise and three members of the West Virginia Bar Association–Thomas R. Tinder, executive director, Charleston, West Virginia, and two of his associates–will be guiding the students in protocol and procedures of case law.
