Riverboat Ragtime Marches to Concord
Athens, W.Va. - Clarke Buehling blows the dust off some fine old banjo tunes and songs about 'possums and raccoons on November 15, 2001, 7:00 p.m., in M-105 in the Alexander Fine Arts Building at Concord College.
Buehling developed a blend of African and Anglo-Celtic musical styles while performing on riverboats, minstrel stages, and under the big tops. He will present the music and humor of bygone times in his performance at Athens.
His repertoire includes rags, marches, gallops, jigs, reels and old-time songs.
Buehling currently resides in Fayetteville, Ark., where he teaches music privately.
