College Board Meeting Announced

The next Concord College Board of Advisors meeting has been scheduled for Monday, April 30, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. in The Concord Room of Marsh Hall.

Concord College Notes: The board of advisors is comprised of 12 persons who review proposals of the institution in the areas of mission, academic programs, budget, capital facilities and other matters as requested by the president according to Senate Bill 653. In general, the intent of this legislation is to diversify and expand the economy of the state, increase the competitiveness of the state’s workforce and the availability of professional expertise by increasing the number of college degrees produced to the level of the national average and significantly improve the level of adult functional literacy.

Lay members of Concord’s interim governing board are: James M. Brown, Beckley, W.Va.; Daniel C. Dunmyer, Princeton, W.Va.; James L. Miller, Princeton, W.Va.; R. T. “Ted” Rogers, Hinton, W.Va.; Margaret Sayer, Beckley, W.Va.; J. Franklin Long, Bluefield, W.Va.; Wayne Meisel, Princeton, N.J.; and Eugene V. Fife, Charlottesville, Va. Other members include student representative R.D. Lukas, faculty representative Charles H. Brichford, and classified staff representative Linda Martin.
