Concord College Notes: The Board of Advisors (BOA) was created in 1981 by an act of the West Virginia legislature. The board’s legislated duties include reviewing all proposals of the College in the areas of mission, academic programs, budget, capital facilities, all campus-wide personnel policies and such matters as requested by the president of the institution or its governing boards or otherwise assigned to it by law. By law, the BOA consists of seven lay members, each serving four-year terms, plus four members representing constituencies within the College. The members should have a sincere interest in and concern for the welfare of that institution and be representative of its population and fields of study. The BOA membership includes at least two alumni of the institution.
