Bio: 

Professionally: I am an Associate Professor of Health Education and Chair of the Department of Human Performance at Concord University. I hold a BS in Health and Physical Education from Virginia Tech, an MA in Health Education and Promotion (research emphasis) from East Carolina University, and a PhD in Health Behavior from Virginia Tech. For the past thirteen years I have worked in higher education. Prior to that I was employed as a community health specialists (specializing in adolescent pregnancy prevention programming) and served as a public school educator. I have published on the relationship between spirituality, religion, death, and risk taking behaviors in college underclassmen. I have received over one half million dollars in grants and contracts. I have also been an invited speaker at over fifty state, regional, national, and international meetings. Personally: I’m married with four children (ages 12, 11, 8, & 7). My spouse is a tenured associate professor of early childhood education at Concord. I enjoy outdoor activities (gardening, wild life, sports, etc). Married to Andrea (Swepston) Campbell.
