KEELY J. RHODES (mezzo-soprano), a native of Washington, DC, holds a Bachelor of Music from Oberlin Conservatory and a Master and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees from the University of Texas in Austin. In addition to the honor of serving as a Fulbright scholar to Italy during 2006 - 2007, she was the recipient of the Austin Critic’s Table Award for Best Classical Singer - Female, in 2005 and 2006. During her Fulbright experience Dr. Rhodes worked with the choirs at the University of Modena-RegEmilia, and cadets of the Accademia Militare of Modena, Italy.
A full time member of the five-time Grammy-nominated, and Edison Award winning, Conspirare, a Company of Voices, Keely sings on several of their recordings. Additionally, she performs as a soloist and collaborative artist for: The Cathedral Choral Society, The Santa Fe Desert Chorale, The Santa Fe Opera, Tucson Chamber Artists, Virginia Oratorio Society, Vox Humana, and The Washington Bach Consort. Keely performs as a concert recitalist, and has performed multiple operatic roles in the United States, Europe, Central America and South America.
